What are lab services?

Lab services are diagnostic tests that allow your provider to evaluate your overall health and screen for diseases, illnesses, and other conditions you or a family member face. Susan refers you to exemplary nearby labs and reviews the results to provide outstanding care. She caters to special needs patients and uses a holistic, compassionate, collaborative approach.

What are examples of lab services?

Examples of lab services include:

  • Blood testing
  • Urine tests
  • Stool testing
  • Saliva tests
  • Tissue swabs

Depending on your symptoms, risk factors, and medical history, Susan may also recommend imaging procedures, heart-function testing, lung-function tests, or additional diagnostic tests.

What do lab services screen for?

Labs can detect or rule out the following:

  • High cholesterol
  • High triglycerides
  • Diabetes
  • Nutrient deficiencies
  • Hormone imbalance
  • Urinary tract infections (UTIs)
  • Arthritis
  • Allergies
  • Flu
  • Strep throat
  • COVID-19
  • Sexually transmitted diseases (STDs)

Lab work helps Susan determine if you would benefit from treatment. Labs also help her establish the effectiveness of your current treatment plan, including any medications you take.

Am I a candidate for lab testing?

Susan meets with you virtually via your phone or another electronic device. She discusses your symptoms, medical history, medications, and lifestyle and completes a virtual physical exam if necessary.

Your symptoms and risk factors determine which lab services, if any, you may be a candidate for. Susan refers you to a nearby lab to complete testing. After she receives the results, she reviews them with you.

What happens after I receive the results of lab services?

Based on your lab results and diagnosis, Susan discusses treatment options with you. She may suggest prescription medication management, medically supervised weight loss, rest and fluids, other home remedies, watchful waiting, or over-the-counter medications. She also provides specialist referrals if needed.

Susan lets you know when to schedule your next lab services appointment and follows up routinely to ensure you’re properly managing an illness, injury, or disease. Contact the Tel-A-YaYa office at any time with questions or concerns.
